ASMP Seattle: Adobe Lightroom On The Road and Photoshop Masking |

9/10/2008 ~ 7:00 PM Many photographers have decided to use Adobe Photoshop Lightroom as their primary workflow tool, but not without some confusion. In particular, photographers who have a computer in the studio and a laptop while on assignment have found that getting their image libraries synchronized is more challenging than they had hoped. In this talk, Steve Laskevitch, Adobe Certified Instructor in Lightroom and author of Photoshop CS3 Photographers Handbook, will propose a couple ways to get your images happily in sync. Also, as a Photoshop instructor, Steve answers many knotty imaging questions. But the topic that trumps the rest in the sheer number of questions is masking: hiding those naughty pixels we no longer wish to see, until our clients change their minds. So in the second half of this talk, Steve will demystify the nature of masks, and offer tips (some basic, some advanced) on making masks more easily. Be ready for both the good news and the bad! PARKING: The entrance to the Campus garage is located at the corner of Harvard and Pine-one block west of Broadway on Capitol Hill. AFTER PARKING: Make your way to the front of the main campus bldg.(red brick) as it faces Broadway. Enter from the street through the center doorways. Directly in front of you will be a pair of elevators. Take one of them to the 5th floor. Exit the elevator and proceed across the large open area until you come to a hallway on the left. Follow the hallway until you arrive at the first set of double doors on your left. This is the entrance to the Commercial Photography Studios (rooms 5156-5158) where the meeting will take place. Presentation begins at 7pm, doors at 6pm. Admission: $5 ASMP Members, $15 non-members, free to ASMP Student Members. You are cordially invited to attend an informal gathering to Klatch up on whats new, share a few prints, and some really good Joe. Starting on the Second Tuesday (10/14) in October from 9am - 10:30am, and continuing on a bi-monthly (thats every other month) basis.
